EMWorks is a leading provider of CAD-Embedded simulation solutions based on the finite element method. The company's products cover a wide range of electromagnetic, electro-mechanical, electro-thermal, structural and thermal applications and are available through three CAD platforms: SOLIDWORKS, Inventor and SpaceClaim. The company also develops and markets circuit simulation products.

This senior project consists of designing and prototyping a magnetic regenerative braking system using Finite Element-based elctro-thermo-mechanical simulation. CAD capture and physics-based simulations will be carried out using SOLIDWORKS and EMWorks’ EMS package while prototyping will be carried out using commercial, of-the-shelf components for proof of concept only. Developed prototypes may be used for educational purposes at the end of the project.
A team of two students is sought to work collaboratively on this project. The students will work in close collaboration with EMWorks engineers and are encouraged to seek support from their academic advisors. They will receive training on EMWorks’ commercial EMS package. Recruitment for employment at EMWorks at the end of the PFE is a possibility depending on qualifications and performance.
Duration and Location
The project will be carried out at the company’s offices in the Technopark of Manouba for a minimum duration of four (4) months (6 months is preferred) on a full-time basis.
Candidates must have a strong background in electromagnetic, electric machines and power electronics and are expected to demonstrate these capabilities through their CVs and during an interview. Strong knowledge of SOLIDWORKS is mandatory (CSWA preferred) and working knowledge of SOLIDWORKS Simulation is useful. Good verbal and written communication skills and abilities to work well in a team are a plus.
